THICK CHECK from LAP for the multi-track thickness measurement of wood, fibre cement sheets and gypsum plasterboards

Guaranteed quality during production is a crucial factor for modern sheet manufacturers. THICK CHECK from LAP offers wood, fibre cement sheet and gypsum plasterboard manufacturers a turnkey, reliable and accurate measurement solution. Thanks to its laser sensors, THICK CHECK can measure the thickness of sheet goods with an accuracy of just a few micrometres. Thickness measurements are carried out on multiple tracks and whilst production is running.

LAP offers a measuring frame for the thickness measurement of wood, fibre cement sheets and gypsum plasterboards up to a width of three metres. Up to seven adjacent measuring tracks ensure that the thickness of the material is measured accurately, also an optimal quality control. The THICK CHECK system measures to the nearest micrometre.

Each measuring track consists of a pair of sensors. The thickness is measured based on the distance from the sensors to the top and the bottom of the material.

THICK CHECK guarantees quality, saves time and costs
The thickness measurement system from LAP allows the measuring frame to be integrated flexibly and simply into existing production systems, such as downstream of the grinding machine or press. Measured values are output on a desktop PC. The machine operator can access the equipment and make adjustments directly. In addition, THICK CHECK offers a digital signal for tolerance violations, which can be integrated directly into existing control systems. This reduces the rejectsand saves time; subsequent measurement is not required. Laser-based thickness measurement guarantees quality during production. As a result, wood, fibre cement sheet and gypsum plasterboard manufacturers can easily reduce costs.
